Falls Church City Public Schools recognizes this year’s FCCPS Standout Mentors, a group of educators whose dedication continues to positively shape the experiences of new and growing professionals across the division. As part of the FCCPS Mentoring Program, these mentors play a vital role in supporting instructional growth, fostering meaningful relationships, and strengthening the professional community within our schools.
More Than a Colleague — A Guide, a Champion, a Constant
Described as supportive, thoughtful, and consistently present, this year’s honorees exemplify what it means to lead with both expertise and care. Through regular check-ins, collaborative planning, and a willingness to share resources and strategies, they create space for reflection, growth, and confidence building. New professional staff members shared that these mentors consistently go above and beyond by offering encouragement during challenging moments, celebrating successes, and bringing humor and warmth into their day-to-day work. Their ability to balance guidance with patience, while remaining approachable and deeply committed, has made a lasting impact on those they support.
506 Hours. 34 Mentors. One Stronger Division.
This year, Mentoring Program participants completed a total of 506 mentoring hours, with 85% of new instructional staff consistently engaging with their assigned mentor throughout the school year. Of those interactions, 43% focused on reflection and independent professional growth, followed closely by instructional decision-making and individualized support tailored to mentees' needs.
The district extends its sincere appreciation to all mentors for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to supporting instructional staff who are new to the profession, new to their role, or new to the district. We are proud of the professional growth demonstrated throughout the 2025–2026 school year and grateful for the positive impact made on both our staff and students.
Thank you for your continued leadership, mentorship, and service to FCCPS.
