Oak Street Families,
It is time once again to sign up for Odyssey of the Mind. Last year, after three years away due to COVID, we came back 24 teams strong, sent three teams to States' and one team to WORLDS'! This is an engaging problem solving competition where teams of 5-7 students work together to design a creative solution to a unique situation. The teams are coached by parent volunteers and meet outside of school (once or twice a week) on a schedule decided by the team members. There is a Regional Competition on March 9 where teams compete against others as they present their solution in a humorous skit.
Thank you to those who made it to our Information Meeting last night. Here is the information slideshow we used along with the sign-up form. Most teams are built by Ms. Allan and myself so don't worry if your child does not have a team already created. Simply sign-up and we'll take care of the rest.

Odyssey of the Mind for 2023 - 2024! -- Information Night
After a VERY successful return last year, we are hosting a parent information night for Odyssey of the Mind on Wednesday, October 11 from 5:30-6:30 in the Oak Street Library.
This meeting is for interested parties - old and new. Hopefully it will also be the chance to hear from previous coaches and parents for first-hand accounts of the experience and time commitment. Last year we had 24 teams, three who moved on to State's and one who went to World's for the first time in eighteen years!
